Evelyn
started competing in Show Obedience with her German Shepherd, Alexis (UCDX
Midnight Fire’s Alexis VRW, TD, UDX4, TC, TT, CGC, TDI) in 1990, when Alexis was
one year old. Alexis earned
numerous AKC and UKC Obedience Titles, including an AKC Tracking Title. During her show career, Alexis was in
the “top five” in the German Shepherd ratings and was awarded two Certificates
of Distinction from “FRONT & FINISH.”
Alexis also earned an Elite Medal for her high score at the German
Shepherd National Specialty in Lexington ,
KY , in 1996. Due to elbow problems Alexis was forced
to retire at age seven with 18 High in Trials and 14 High Combined Scores. Alexis passed away November 13, 2002 , at age 13 ˝.
Evelyn’s
second dog to show in competitive obedience was Axxel, (UCD JUDEEN’S ACCENT ON
AXXEL, CDX, TC.) In 1997 Axxel was
the High in Trial Dog at the GSD National Specialty in
Perry , GA.
He, like Alexis, was
in the top of the ratings in obedience for his breed. Axxel earned two Elite Medals for high
scores at the GSD National Specialties in 1997 and 1998 and retired with 6 High
in Trials. Axxel passed away on October 12, 2004, at age 12.
Evelyn’s third dog, XXarco (UCDX MARQUIS “MAKE
MY DAY” DeBRUT, TD, CDX, TC, CGC) was tracking certified at the age of six
months and earned his AKC Tracking Title (TD) at age 8 months. Xxarco earned his AKC Companion Dog (CD)
title in three trials with a DOG WORLD AWARD in 2001, when he was also the #4
GSD nationally in Novice. His
latest accomplishments included a United Kennel Club CDX and a High in
Trial. He passed away March 6, 2009,
at the age of 9 years and 9 months.
Evelyn’s fourth dog, Xena (UCDX Alex von der
Friesenklippe, TD, UDX, RN, CGC) was born June 2002.
She is training in Obedience and Tracking and earned her first AKC
title (CD) with high scores and an all-breed High In Trial.
Evelyn
founded KLOUD K-9, a dog daycare and training center that also offered boarding
and grooming, in June of 2000. She recently sold her successful business
so she could retire and travel the world.
Evelyn
was born and raised in Germany.
